Dr Richard Levy is recognized as an expert in the area of computer visualization. His interests include the role of computer visualization in legal cases, focusing on the use of 3D computer models at legal hearings. Current research pertains to issues surrounding CAD use in the planning review process including historic and legal precedent, human perception, and public acceptance of new technology. Of particular interest is the review of legal precedent, which establishes the protocol for using computer modeling in urban planning disputes. In addition, Siggraph 2001 and Canadian Architect have recognized Professor Levy for his use of CAD in the virtual reconstruction of the temple site in Phimai, Thailand.
